About the Programme

Birthing Bridges is a perinatal wellbeing programme designed to support women and families through pregnancy, birth and the early postnatal period. Rooted in community, cultural awareness and lived experience, this programme creates a safe, nurturing space where parents feel seen, informed and supported.

We understand that for many families (particularly those from underserved communities) the journey into parenthood can feel overwhelming, isolating and, at times, unsupported. Birthing Bridges exists to change that.

What We Offer

Our programme combines practical guidance, emotional support and community connection through:

  • Birth Educator-informed antenatal sessions
Preparing you for birth with honest, evidence-based information

  • Birth preparation discussions and workshops
Understanding your choices, your rights and your body

  • Postnatal support and check-ins
Supporting your recovery, wellbeing and transition into parenthood

  • Peer support spaces
Connecting with other parents in a supportive, non-judgemental environment

  • Creative wellbeing activities
Gentle, therapeutic sessions to support emotional wellbeing

Who It’s For

Birthing Bridges is for:

  • Pregnant women at any stage

  • First-time and experienced mothers

  • Partners and support people

  • Families seeking culturally responsive, community-based support

We particularly support those who may feel unheard, overlooked or disconnected from traditional maternity services.

Our Approach

Birthing Bridges is:

  • Trauma-supported – we prioritise emotional safety and choice

  • Culturally responsive – we honour lived experiences and identity

  • Community-led – built with and for the community

  • Holistic – supporting mind, body and environment

This is not just about birth — it’s about how you are held before, during and after.
